Ak. Singh et al., MODAL CHARACTERISTICS OF EM WAVE-PROPAGATION THROUGH A CHIROFIBRE WITH DIFFERENT CORE AND CLADDING CHIRAL ADMITTANCES, Optics communications, 115(3-4), 1995, pp. 256-260
The paper discusses EM wave propagation through a chirofibre in which
the core as well as the cladding are chiral materials of different con
stitutions. The general eigenvalue equation is derived and solved nume
rically for the lowest polar variation index v ( = 0). It is observed
that with increasing chiral admittance in the core the number of propa
gating modes decreases for a certain parameter denoted by V. The local
behaviour of the dispersion curve is of a fluctuating nature. For a g
iven core chiral admittance, there is a critical value of the relative
permittivity below which propagation is forbidden.
