Soliton propagation in the presence of spectral filtering, linear, and
nonlinear gain is explored. We fix the filtering, and study steady-st
ate soliton parameters for various relations between linear and nonlin
ear gain. We reveal, that as the linear gain vanishes, the soliton amp
litude diverges. Soliton propagation in a system with spectral filteri
ng and purely nonlinear gain is also studied.
