In order to provide thin-target cross sections as a basis for model ca
lculations of the interactions of solar and galactic alpha-particles,
irradiation experiments with alpha-particles were performed at the inj
ector cyclotron at PSI/Villigen (E(max) = 119.7 MeV) and at the isochr
onous cyclotron JULIC at KFA Julich (E(max) = 170.5 MeV). The stacked
foil technique was used to investigate residual nuclide production fro
m C, N, O, Mg, Al and Si. The product nuclides Be-7, Na-22, Na-24 and
Mg-28 were measured by gamma-spectrometry, Be-10 and Al-26 by accelera
tor mass spectrometry. The new data are compared with earlier measurem
ents and analyzed using hybrid model of preequilibrium reactions.
