Abstract
An invariant formulation and finite volume discretization of the stand ard k-epsilon turbulence model in general curvilinear co-ordinates is presented. The k-epsilon model is implemented together with the incomp ressible Navier-Stokes equations on staggered grids with contravariant flux components as unknowns. A proof that k and epsilon are non-negat ive is given. Positive schemes in the implementation of the k-epsilon model are evaluated. Discretization of boundary conditions is consider ed. The numerical method is applied to a turbulent flow across a stagg ered tube bank.
