Abstract
Screening of Dunaliella was performed in four provinces along the coas t of the Gulf of Thailand (Chanthaburi, Chon Buri, Chachoengsao and Sa mut Songkhram) and in Nakhorn Ratchasima province in the north-east. S ix clones of D. salina were isolated from salt fields in Samut-Songkhr am province. Clone DS91008 produced the highest carotenoid content of 80.3 pg cell-1, in modified J/1 medium at 30% NaCl under continuous il lumination at 270 mumol m-2 s-1.
