Abstract
A new method, computerized granulometric analysis in suspension (C-GRA INS), is suggested for the sedimentation analysis of soil particles ba sed on the relation between the specific weight and liquid pressure of a soil suspension. Theoretical aspects concerning this new testing me thod are discussed, and a prototype C-GRAINS system is fabricated acco rdingly. The general behavior of the new system is studied, and the co rresponding sedimentation results are compared to current ASTM standar ds.
