Abstract
A derailed description of both sexes of a new species, Alella gibbosa, is given, Specimens were sampled from the host, Rhabdosargus sarba (F orsskal, 1775), collected from Lake St, Lucia, South Africa. Morpholog ical detail was observed with the aid of scanning electron microscopy. This species was compared with its congeners, A. pagelli, A, macrotra chelus, A, pterobrachiata and A. ditrematis.
