Abstract
We discuss the application of total sideband suppression (TOSS) to the magic angle spinning NMR of ordered systems and show how the suppress ion of certain order of sidebands is related to the symmetry of the or ientational distribution function characterizing the sample. We also i ndicate experimental strategies for selecting sidebands by order on sa mples with arbitrary orientational distribution functions.
