PARTIAL SYNTHESIS OF AZASTEROIDS

Synthesis of aza analogues of steroids from the naturally occuring ste roid precursors is reviewed. The general methods of synthesis of azast eroids are examplified by synthesis of steroid analogues with nitrogen atom at various skeleton positions. The review is limited to nuclear azasteroids and a special emphasis is placed on the synthesis of biolo gically active compounds.
