Abstract
The case of a six month old Oriental Shorthair cat that was presented at the Small Animal Clinic due to a severe growth retardation is descr ibed. After excluding other possible causes for the dwarfism, a karyot ype analysis was performed which demonstrated a chromosome E2 with pro minent satellites. Possible cytogenetic causes for this phenomenon are discussed and compared to similar reports from human genetics.
