Abstract
The effect of acute administration of ritanserin (RTS), a specific 5-H T2/HT1C antagonist, on FSH, LH, GH, cortisol and PRL secretion in the male and the female healthy volunteers was investigated. The compound did not significantly modify plasma levels of gonadotropins, cortisol and PRL. Furthermore, it induced a slight reduction in GH secretion on ly in the male group, confirming that 5HT has a minor role on the cont rol of the basal release of those hormones.
