Abstract
Besides the previously described diterpenes isolated from C. populifol ius, one minor metabolite has been isolated and identified as methyl 2 alpha,3 beta-dihydroxy-4(18)-neo-cleroden-15-oate. The structure of t he new diterpene was confirmed by hemisynthesis.
