Abstract
We study the crossed product A x G superset of or equal to B x G of an inclusion A superset of or equal to B of type II1-factors by a discre te strongly outer action G. In particular, we find conditions under wh ich the strong amenability of A superset of or equal to B implies that of A x G superset of or equal to B x G, and vice versa.
