Abstract
The questions concerning design and study of quasi-optical (QO) ferrit e unidirectional devices, based on two types of transmission line, nam ely hollow dielectric beamguide (HDB) and squire metal-dielectric wave guide (MDW) were considered. Insertion loss of the QO isolator based o n 20 mm diameter HDB lies between the limits 1.8 and 3.0 dB, return lo ss is not less than 20 dB, and voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) is n ot more than 1.3 in the wavelength range of 1.0 to 1.25 mm. Magnetic f ield is 0.06 to 0.08 T. The parameters of the isolators based on 10x10 mm cross-section MDW are insertion loss of not more than 2.0 dB, retu rn loss of not less than 20 dB, and VSWR does not exceed 1.3 in the fr equency bandwidth of 15% in the wavelength range of 0.85 to 2.00 mm. T he scheme of unidirectional QO phaser for the use in high power level (HPL) ferrite circulator is presented.
