Abstract
The aerobic oxidation of the manganese(iii) dihydrosalen-thioether che late rac-1 affords the novel manganese(HI) sulfoxide complex rac-2; X- ray structural analysis of the latter reveals that only one of the two possible diastereomeric oxidation products is present in the crystal.
