Abstract
Tropothione S-sulfide is synthesized from tropone hydrazone with disul fur dichloride in deaerated chloroform at -78 degrees C. The S-sulfide is detected as an unprecedented [10 pi + 2 pi]-type cycloadduct with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate.
