Abstract
DNA discrimination by C6 zinc cluster proteins is discussed. Monomer p roteins in this family bind to the CGG sequence. We propose that C6 di mers bind to CGGN(n=10-12)CCG or CGGN(n=4-7)CCG depending on whether d imerisation takes place over the DNA minor groove or the DNA major gro ove at the centre of the binding site.
