Hbk. Tan et Tw. Ling, RECOVERY OF OBJECT-ORIENTED DESIGN FROM EXISTING DATA-INTENSIVE BUSINESS PROGRAMS, Information and software technology, 37(2), 1995, pp. 67-77
Extracting object-oriented designs from non-object-oriented data-inten
sive business programs is an important issue in software re-engineerin
g and maintenance, In this paper, an augmented object model for specif
ying data-intensive business programs is proposed. Consequently, a met
hodology for the recovery of a specification using the proposed model
from an existing data-intensive business program is proposed, The spec
ification recovered represents an object-oriented design of the progra
m. The design is expressed in terms of real-world application objects
and operations and can be reused in similar applications.
