FUNCTIONAL-INTEGRATION IN ITINERANT MAGNETS - WHAT DOES IT MEAN

The static approximation transforms the partition function of an itine rant magnet into that of a classical exchange field. We show that the exact Hamiltonian for this field, to which the static approximation is the leading term, is complex, with a field distribution tending in ce rtain limits to a Wigner function.
