Interlayer exchange coupling in Co/Al multilayers was investigated wit
h ferromagnetic resonance and magnetoresistance measurements. For samp
les with d(Al) less than or equal to 19 Angstrom, spin waves were obse
rved for perpendicular geometry, which implied that spin waves were su
stained by the whole film and propagated through Al sublayers. Two mag
netoresistance peaks corresponding to antiferromagnetic coupling betwe
en the cobalt layers were observed with increasing Al spacer thickness
, but the strongest peak occurred for d(Al) = 23 Angstrom.
