G. Suran et al., ON THE LOCALIZED RESONANCE MODE IN AMORPHOUS THIN-FILMS - EXPERIMENTAL-OBSERVATIONS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 144, 1995, pp. 689-690
The overall properties of a new type of resonance mode specific to amo
rphous thin films are reported. This resonance mode was observed at 9.
8 GHz - apart from the uniform mode - on a-Co93-xZr7(RE)(x) thin films
where RE = Nd, Pr, Tb or Dy and for low RE content i.e. 0 < x I 4. Th
e films exhibit a well defined in-plane uniaxial anisotropy field. For
perpendicular orientation a single new resonance mode is observed wit
h a resonance field H-r much less than 4 pi M(s), while for parallel o
rientation a series of irregularly spaced modes are detected for fairl
y high applied fields. It is proposed that it could correspond to loca
lized resonance related to the highly anisotropic local sites.
