A model of combined mass and heat transfer during nonisothermal gas ab
sorption from a slug rising in a channel filled with liquid is suggest
ed. The expressions for coefficients of heat and mass transfer from a
single slug are derived in the approximation of the thin concentration
and heat boundary layers in a liquid phase. Under the assumptions of
a perfect mixing of the dissolved gas in liquid plugs and uniform temp
erature distribution in liquid plugs, recurrent relations for the diss
olved gas concentration and temperature in the n-th liquid plug and ma
ss and heat fluxes from the n-th gas slug are derived. The total mass
and heat fluxes in a gas-liquid slug flow are determined. In the limit
ing case of absorption without heat release the derived formulas recov
er the expressions for isothermal absorption in a gas-liquid slug flow
