A study has been made of the influence of temperature, ethylene pressu
re, Ti(OC4H9)(4) concentration and contact time on the dimerization ra
te of ethylene to but-1-ene under the operating conditions of a contin
uous trial unit. It has been established that dimerization proceeds wi
th a selectivity of 98-99% and a yield of up to 200 kg of but-1-ene pe
r kg of Ti(OC4H9)(4).
