It has been established that a number of natural compounds exhibit cat
alytic activity in the oxidative condensation of methane to C-2 hydroc
arbons. It has been shown that the promotion of chrysotile-asbestos by
sodium, lanthanum and manganese compounds improves the activity and s
electivity of the catalyst. A study has been made of the influence of
the nature of the catalyst temperature, the contact time, the nature o
f the oxidant and the nature and content of the modifier on the main i
ndices of oxidative conversion of methane to C-2 products.
