SEIZURE INCIDENCE WITH IMIPENEM USE AT A VA HOSPITAL

The incidence of seizures reported with imipenem use varies. Risk fact ors such as excessive dosage, renal insufficiency, underlying central nervous system disorders, and prior history of seizures have been corr elated to seizure occurrence. The objectives of this study weve to det ermine the incidence of seizures associated with the use of imipenem a t our institution and to compare the presence of risk factors in patie nts who developed seizures with those who did not.
