A. Chudziak et M. Trojanowicz, REVERSED-PHASE HPLC OF PHENOLS WITH PRECONCENTRATION BY SOLID-PHASE EXTRACTION, Chemia Analityczna, 40(1), 1995, pp. 39-52
The experimental conditions for reversed-phase HPLC of phenol, chloro-
and alkylphenols using 3 mu m Pecosphere 3x3C R18 (0.46x3.3 cm) colum
n with UV detection at 280 nm were optimized. As tile most satisfactor
y eluent a 65+ 25+10 (V+V+V) mixture of 30 mmol l(-1) ammonium acetate
, acetonitrile and methanol was assumed. Also the efficiency of solid-
phase extraction of trace amounts of phenols on microcolumns with C18,
C8, phenyl and cyano sorbents was investigated. The most satisfactory
results for the preconcentration of phenols were obtained for phenyl
sorbent. The preliminary results of the application of developed metho
d in determinations of phenols in natural water and waste are presente
d.
