Abstract
New N-x-Fmoc/Bu(t) protected amino acids bearing half-EDTA side chains (CH2)(n)N(Ada-O-Bu(t))2 n = 1 (5), n = 2 (24), n = 3 (10), n = 4 (15) were prepared in satisfactory yields. These derivatives can be conven iently used in a solid-phase peptide synthesis as they are devoid of s erious shortcomings of Boc/Bzl based syntheses of metallopeptides, suc h as preliminary peptide capping as well as undesired lactamization of 5 during the peptide synthesis.
