Abstract
Alignment detected, state-specific photofragment yield spectroscopy is introduced and demonstrated for the S-1 photodissociation of t-butyln itrite (CH3)(3)CO-N=O. For this process the rotational alignment A(0)( (2)) of the nascent NO fragment is shown to depend on the initially ex cited vibronic state of the parent molecule.
