ONLINE MULTI-CONTINGENCY PREPROCESSING OF SECURITY ASSESSMENT FOR SEVERE WEATHER BASED ON QUALITATIVE REASONING WITH PROBABILITY-STATISTICSCLASSIFICATION

A preprocessing method to select multi-contingencies having higher pro
bability and severity for security assessment is presented in this pap
er. Based upon probabilistic classification and qualitative analysis,
the proposed method can quickly create and renew the multiple continge
ncy list with probability attributes and greatly reduce the number of
multi-contingencies to be asserted. The operators can concentrate on a
nalysing multi-contingency cases with higher severity and higher proba
bility, especially for on-line application during severe weather perio
ds. Thus, both the probability and the duration of the loss of load ca
n be reduced.
