Abstract
A generalized exact formula is derived for a determination of the expe rimental isomeric ratio in any incident particle activation. For the p articular case, when the activity of the ground state results from the simultaneous decay of both states and can be conveniently measured, t he appropriate modification of this formula is evaluated and applied t o six photonuclear reactions induced by 43 MeV bremsstrahlung. The exp erimental isomeric yield ratios of (gamma, 3n) In-110m,In-g; (gamma, p ) (gamma, pn), (gamma, 2n2p) In-117m,In-g; (gamma, n) Ho-164m,Ho-g and (gamma; 3n) Ho-162m,Ho-g are deduced.
