The technique is described for devascularizing the post-cesarean secti
on uterus with bilateral mass ligation of the ascending branches of th
e uterine arteries and veins. This 30-year clinical experielzce with 2
65 patients includes the results and complications. Ten patients requi
red additional therapy. The effectiveness of this technique makes it a
reasonable alternative to hypogastric artery ligation and reduces the
need for hysterectomy.
