CHROMATOGRAPHY IMMUNOLOGY COUPLING, A POWERFUL TOOL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL-ANALYSIS

The value in environmental analysis of methods based on combinations o f antigenicity and chromatographic properties is shown. Immunochromato graphic analysis is reviewed as applied to samples of environmental co ncern. Other coupling methods which are of potential interest, but hav e not yet been applied in environmental studies, are also considered. The superiority is shown of immunochromatographic analysis over high-p erformance liquid chromatography and classical immunoassays performed independently.
