Abstract
We report laser oscillations in Cd II on the 4d(9) 5s(2) D-2(5/2)-4d(1 0) 5p P-2(3/2) transition at 441.6 nm using a laser-produced tungsten plasma as a pumping source. The axial electron density is estimated us ing a Mach-Zehnder interferometer.
