Abstract
The collection of low-boiling olefinic aldehydes on 2,4-dinitrophenylh ydrazine (DNPH)-coated adsorbents (silica cartridges and glass denuder s) is examined. Concurrent formation of two different hydrazones by bo th acrolein and crotonaldehyde is reported and discussed. Identificati on and quantitation of these compounds do not represent a problem in H PLC analysis, because of their separation from other C-3 and C-4 carbo nyl derivatives present in airborne sample extracts.
