Abstract
We report the cytogenetic findings in three mixed liposarcoma followin g short-term cultures. During the course of cytogenetic investigation of various types of liposarcomas, we observed an interstitial deletion of the long arm of chromosome 6 together with the translocation (12;1 6) (q13;p11) in three tumors. Translocation (12;16) is associated with myxoid and mixed (myxoid/round cell) liposarcomas, although deletion of chromosome 6 has been observed in only a few of these tumors. Our f indings suggest that del(6), as an additional change in myxoid liposar coma, is probably related to tumor progression.
