Abstract
The title compound was synthesized by CS2 insertion in the C-M bonds o f the corresponding AgLi''ate'' organometal compound. It contains flat tened tetrahedral Ag4 units, connected in polymeric chains by intermol ecular Ag...S interactions. Two Ag atoms and three S atoms are in a di storted square pyramidal arrangement around each silver atom. The crys tals are tetragonal, space group 14(1)/a with a = 23.706(2) and c = 12 .934(2) angstrom. The structure was refined to R = 0.032 for 889 refle ctions.
