Abstract
The construction of a resistively heated metal vapour source for tempe ratures up to 600 degrees C is described. The source has been speciall y designed for use in electron spectroscopy studies of metal vapours a nd offers the important advantages of compact size, small angular dive rgence of the vapour beam, low heat loss and reliable performance over long operating periods.
