Hydrolysis of N-(2/4-hydroxy)benzylidine 2-aminobenzothiazoles in acid
ic, alkaline and neutral medium has been performed in microemulsions i
nvolving cetyltrimethylammonium bromide/sodium lauryl sulphate-hexane-
isobutanol-water system. The transition between different regions of s
odium lauryl sulphate microemulsions has been characterized by conduct
ivity method. The solubilization sites of the schiff bases in the micr
oemulsions have been worked out with spectroscopic data. Rate of hydro
lysis of the schiff bases have been carried out in o/w and w/o microem
ulsions under pH conditions.
