Abstract
A mathematical model has been developed to predict the pressure distri butions between forming fabrics passing over stationary blades in gap formers. Explicit equations for pressure distributions were obtained f or the case of an infinitely thin blade and zero screen stiffness. Pre dicted pressures were compared to ones measured over a blade on a pilo t paper machine at speeds up to 900 m/min. Agreement between predictio n and measurement was very good.
