Exchange currents (i0c) of anodic corrosion of CdS electrode as well a
s the rate constants (k(s) of a redox couple like ferrocene/ferriciniu
m ion on CdS electrode in water as well as some nonaqueous media like
acetonitrile, propylene carbonate and dimethyl sulfoxide have been det
ermined by steady state polarization and cyclic voltammetric technique
s respectively. The results help derive the solvent effect on the rate
s of anodic corrosion of CdS and that of a suitable redox couple and t
hus reflect the relative suitability of solvents so as to help develop
nonaqueous PEC solar cell of longer stability.
