ORGANOPHOSPHORUS REAGENTS AS EXTRACTANTS .6. SYNERGIC EFFECT OF TRIPHENYLPHOSPHINE OXIDE (OR 2,4-PENTANEDIONE) ON THE EXTRACTION OF COPPER(II) USING 8-HYDROXYQUINOLINE
Ts. Lobana et al., ORGANOPHOSPHORUS REAGENTS AS EXTRACTANTS .6. SYNERGIC EFFECT OF TRIPHENYLPHOSPHINE OXIDE (OR 2,4-PENTANEDIONE) ON THE EXTRACTION OF COPPER(II) USING 8-HYDROXYQUINOLINE, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. A: Inorganic, physical, theoretical & analytical, 33(11), 1994, pp. 1046-1048
Copper(II) is separated quantitatively from its binary mixtures with C
r(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Ag(I), Pb(II)
and Mg(II) using synergic combinations of triphenylphosphine oxide (or
2,4-pentanedione) with 8-hydroxyquinoline. The anions tested, viz., C
l-, NO3, CH3COO- and SO4(2) do not interfere; Fe(III), however, interf
eres in the extraction of Cu(II). The nature of species, their extract
ion and stability constants are calculated from the metal distribution
data using linear regression analysis. The nature of extracted specie
s of Cu(II) with 2,4-pentanedione alone is also reinvestigated.
