Abstract
A case of acute pneumonia due to the inhalation of deodorized kerosene in a patient who occasionally performed as a fire-eater is reported. The clinical and roentgenologic manifestations of this condition are f airly uniform from case to case. Complications are rare and the outcom e is usually favorable. Antimicrobial and corticosteroid therapy is de sirable although still controversial. The physicochemical properties o f kerosene explain the pathophysiology of the pulmonary lesions.
