Abstract
The occurrence of osteoporosis during pregnancy or the puerperium is r are. A case with multiple vertebral fractures during the third pregnan cy is reported, with the laboratory test results and bone density meas urements obtained during the two-year follow-up. Pregnancy-related alt erations in calcium and phosphorus metabolism contribute to the bone l oss in pregnancy-related osteoporosis. A genetic predisposition probab ly also play a role.
