Abstract
Multiple emulsions containing rifampicin were prepared and evaluated f or in vitro characterisation. The effect of pH of internal and externa l aqueous phase on in vitro release profile of rifampicin from multipl e emulsions were studied. The partition coefficient of rifampicin betw een internal aqueous phase (at variable pH) and liquid paraffin (oily phase) was estimated and its effect on the release profile was elucida ted.
