A high-field magnetization study of single crystals of M(2)SiO(4) with
M = Mn, Fe and Co has been performed by using steady magnetic fields
of up to 27 T generated by a hybrid magnet, and pulsed fields up to 41
T. A variety of field-induced transitions was observed at 4.2 K in th
ese orthorhombic systems. In Mn2SiO4, a small magnetization jump dong
the a-axis was observed at H-j = 13 T and T = 4.2 K. The H-j versus T
curve showed a pronounced minimum at 20 K, below which the magnetic mo
ments were reported to become noncollinear.
