Doping effect of nonmagnetic impurities such as Zn2+ or Hg2+ in the Ha
ldane system Ni(C2H8N2)(2)NO2(ClO4) (NENP) was studied through SQUID m
easurement. Temperature and field dependences for these samples were m
easured. It is found from the experimental results that magnetic momen
ts appear in the spin system by cutting linear chain with nonmagnetic
impurities.
