Abstract
EPR results in Cr-doped PbTe and PbSe provide evidence that the g-fact
or of Cr3+ can be effectively modified by the presence of conduction e
lectrons. We suggest that a reduction in the hybridization of the impu
rity and band states, caused by the filling of the conduction band, le
ads to a reduction of the 'crystal field' splitting and to an increase
of the g-shift.
