Ab. Chizhik et al., PHOTOINDUCED MAGNETIZATION SWITCHINGS IN COBALT-DOPED YIG-FILMS, Journal of magnetism and magnetic materials, 140, 1995, pp. 2111-2112
Photoinduced remagnetization was found in YIG:Co films grown by LPE on
the (001) plane of a GGG substrate. Linearly polarized light was used
for magnetization switching from the [110] type to the [($) over bar
110] type direction. The influence of a magnetic field applied in the
sample plane was also studied. The switching time was measured as a fu
nction of: (i) the angle of light polarization orientation; (ii) the m
agnetic field amplitude; and (iii) the temperature. The results obtain
ed are discussed in the frame of the developed theory, taking into con
sideration photoinduced changes in the magnetic anisotropy.
