Abstract
Polarized light induced 'soft' and 'rigid' linear dichroism was found in YIG:Co films. The 'rigid' photo-induced dichroism seems to be conne cted with Co2+ in the tetrahedral side. The effect of optical anisotro py memory was observed after heating and recooling of the sample.
