D. Rose et L. Brentrup, EFFECTIVE EMISSION REDUCTION WHEN USING S ECONDARY MATERIALS AT THE SIGGENTHAL CEMENT WORKS IN SWITZERLAND, ZKG international. Edition B, 48(4), 1995, pp. 204-214
The first POLVITEC(R) activated coke filter to be installed in the cem
ent industry went into operation early in 1994 at the Siggenthal cemen
t works in Switzerland This activated coke filter was augmented by an
SNCR system for reducing the nitrogen oxides formed in the burning pro
cess. The acceptance measurements carried out during continuous, stead
y-state operation were able to demonstrate the excellent collecting ef
ficiency of this this process, even when using secondary fuels and mat
erials. The return on investment period is very short, due to the repl
acement of fossil fuels and the revenue from waste disposal fees.
